Born in New York and raised in Chelsea, London, Jiah Khan is the daughter of Ali Rizvi Khan, an Indian American, and Rabiya Amin, a Hindi film actress in the 1980s from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India and most remembered in Tahir Hussain's Dulha Bikta Hai. After completing a short film in English in New Zealand, Sindhura is looking forward to her second Telugu film directed by Nagesh Nardasi for which she's shooting in the Talakona forests in Tirupathi. “Tirupathi is special to me. Even before leaving to China for the Miss World contest (she made it to the semi-finals), I had visited the temple. The location is auspicious to me.”
After her bit role in Heyy Babyy and with Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bemisal still waiting to see the light of the day, not much seems to be happening on the Bollywood front. Sindhura says, “Working in Bollywood was a learning experience. When I did my first film I was very raw. I’m now looking forward to quality work. There’s a lot to learn. Right now I am not overanalysing the roles since I’m just beginning my career,” she quips.
Sindhura also claims she’s in the process of finalising a deal with a big banner from Hollywood. On the fashion front too, Sindhura is proud of her career as a model as she still walks the ramp at many prestigious fashion weeks in the country.
